Wessel OosthuizenThe technical working groups and panels are developing processes, procedures, guidance documents, education modules and templates that can be used by FPSB Member organizations and educators as part of the initial education or ongoing professional development component of the CFP certification program. Chaired by Wessel Oosthuizen, CFP, director of the Centre for Financial Planning Law at the University of the Free State in South Africa, the groups consist of subject-matter experts representing major universities, education providers, standards-setting bodies and CFP professionals.

  • The Integrated Financial Planning Module Panel is creating guidance on content and delivery/teaching methods for a 32-hour integrated financial planning course.

  • The Education Panel is discussing guidance documents and approaches for how FPSB Members and educational institutions can use FPSB’s Curriculum Framework to deliver financial planning education courses to prepare candidates for the CFP certification assessment program.
